Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the workshop (Cylinder, Pump, Chroming, Seals, Welding, Engineering divisions).
- Allocate jobs, monitor workflow, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Supervise technicians, machinists, welders, seal fabricators, and support staff.
- Oversee job intake, inspection, costing, and quotation processes.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained, including inspection reports, testing protocols, and service documentation.
- Control workshop costs, including labor, materials, and overheads.
- Maintain workshop equipment (lathes, honing machines, CNC seal machines, chroming systems, test benches) and schedule preventive maintenance.
- Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and enforce safety regulations.
- Act as the main point of contact between management and customers for technical issues.
- Develop staff skills through training and performance evaluations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hydraulic repair workshop management or similar mechanical/industrial workshop role.
- Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic cylinders, pumps, seals, machining, and welding processes.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to prepare quotations, costings, and technical reports.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with workshop software, spreadsheets, or ERP systems is a plus.
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred, but experience can substitute).
