Job Summary:
The Store In-Charge will oversee all operations related to the storage, distribution, and inventory management of goods, tools, and spare parts in KGH’s workshop and warehouse. They will ensure efficient and smooth workflows, proper stock control, and timely availability of materials for ongoing projects, particularly supporting hydraulic equipment, machine repairs, and other workshop divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain and manage optimal inventory levels of hydraulic spare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Implement efficient stock control systems to track incoming and outgoing materials.
- Perform regular stock audits and physical counts, ensuring accuracy in inventory records.
- Receiving and Inspection:
- Oversee the receipt of incoming materials and ensure proper inspection for quantity, quality, and condition.
- Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure timely delivery of items and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain Goods Received Notes (GRNs).
- Storage and Organization:
- Ensure safe and organized storage of items, following FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized warehouse, complying with health and safety standards.
- Issuance of Materials:
- Coordinate with the workshop and maintenance teams to issue required materials and spare parts for various projects.
- Ensure accurate recording of issued materials to different divisions (e.g., Cylinder Repair, HPU, etc.).
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date records of all transactions, including material requests, stock issues, and inventory adjustments.
- Generate and submit weekly and monthly inventory reports to management.
- Ensure all store-related documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Vendor Coordination:
- Liaise with vendors for stock replenishment and material returns when necessary.
- Assist the purchasing department in managing lead times and deliveries.
- Team Management:
- Supervise store assistants (if any) and ensure they perform their tasks efficiently.
- Train and guide junior staff on best practices in inventory and stock management.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with KGH’s safety policies and procedures within the store area.
- Implement measures to prevent accidents and ensure safe handling of heavy equipment and hazardous materials.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or warehousing, ideally in a technical or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic machinery spare parts and tools is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
